Overview

This Board was established in November of 1979 by Ordinance Number 3237, under Article V, Section 5.1 of the City Charter. 

Goals & Duties

The Board is responsible for making and adopting by-laws, rules, and regulations for their own guidance and for the government of the library as outlined in 182.140 - 182.301 RSMo; appointing a properly qualified librarian; controlling all library funds; and maintaining all library properties. The Board is made up of nine members. It shall consist of seven members who must reside within the city limits of Nevada and two from the Nevada/Vernon County area. The members serve three-year terms.
