About Us
Originally called Nevada City, the community grew out of the municipal organization of Vernon County and was chosen as the county seat in 1855.

Chamber of Commerce
The Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce is an action oriented organization. We exist to serve our local businesses, community organizations, residents, and visitors with information and services aimed at enhancing the quality of life in our town.

On October 1, 1855, a special commission of non-residents selected the site of Nevada.

Parks & Recreation
Nevada’s parks system consists of ten parks, 18-hole championship golf course, Skate Park, Aquatic Center and the City/County Community Center. The community is fortunate to have such an extensive parks and recreation system.

Nevada, located in Southwest Missouri, is a pleasant community with a family atmosphere and access to distinguished and world-renowned educational opportunities.
